MANN+HUMMEL is inviting applications for a MANN+HUMMEL Legal Intern position in Bangalore, India. The role offers students practical exposure to in-house legal work, contract review, legal research, litigation monitoring, corporate secretarial matters and legal operations.

The position sits within the company’s Legal function and involves supporting in-house counsel with day-to-day legal queries and business requirements.

MANN+HUMMEL is a global filtration company that develops solutions for vehicles, industrial applications, clean air and sustainable water use. The company promotes an open working culture and encourages employees to take responsibility and contribute ideas.

The MANN+HUMMEL Legal Internship gives law students an opportunity to work with the in-house legal team. Interns will support legal counsel and business stakeholders on practical legal and compliance matters.

The role can be particularly useful for students who want to understand how an in-house legal department handles contracts, regulatory issues, litigation and corporate compliance.

Roles and Areas of Work

The Legal Intern will support the in-house legal counsel with day-to-day legal queries raised by business stakeholders. The role also involves identifying and summarising contractual risks, key obligations and commercial deviations.

Legal research forms another important part of the internship. Interns will conduct legal and regulatory research relevant to ongoing business activities and potential risk exposure.

The role also includes litigation monitoring. Interns will track cases, hearing dates and deadlines while helping prepare internal dashboards.

In addition, interns will support legal operations through digitalisation initiatives, internal trackers, KPIs and cost reporting. They will also assist with corporate secretarial matters under the Companies Act, 2013, including board and committee documentation and statutory filings.

The internship also covers routine corporate housekeeping activities carried out with regional stakeholders. As a result, students can gain broad exposure to corporate and in-house legal functions.

Eligibility and Skills Required

The opportunity is open to law students, preferably from the 4th semester onwards, or candidates pursuing comparable legal studies. Prior internship or student-assistant experience is preferred but the source does not state it as mandatory.

Applicants should have a basic understanding of contract law and civil law and an interest in corporate and in-house legal work. The company also looks for candidates who work in a structured, detail-oriented and reliable manner.

Strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn are important for the role. Candidates should also be comfortable using MS Office, including Word and PowerPoint.

Since the position involves communication with business stakeholders and regional teams, applicants need very good written and spoken English skills.
