The Editorial Board of the NUALS Law Journal is inviting submissions for Volume 21, Issue 1. The journal welcomes original legal scholarship across multiple categories, including articles, essays, case comments, short notes and legislative comments.

About NUALS Law Journal

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi is a leading National Law University established by the Government of Kerala in 2005.

The NUALS Law Journal is the university’s flagship multidisciplinary, double-blind peer-reviewed law journal. It is published twice a year and carries the ISSN 2319-8273.

About the Call for Papers

The journal invites original submissions for its upcoming Volume 21, Issue 1. The issue is expected to be published by January 2027.

Authors can submit manuscripts under the following categories:

  • Legislative Comments: 1,500–3,000 words
  • Short Notes: 1,500–5,000 words
  • Case Comments: 1,500–5,000 words
  • Essays: 3,000–5,000 words
  • Articles: 5,000–10,000 words

Speaking footnotes, if used, must not exceed 50 words.

Submission Guidelines

The last date to submit is September 5, 2026.

Each submission must include an abstract of not more than 250 words. The abstract should form part of the manuscript and should not be submitted separately.

Additionally, the manuscript must be original and should not have been submitted, accepted or published elsewhere.

The journal follows a strict plagiarism policy. Manuscripts that contain plagiarism may face summary rejection.

A submission can have a maximum of three authors.

Formatting Guidelines

Authors must follow the NUALS Law Journal Citation Guide and Style Guide while preparing their manuscripts.

Where the Citation Guide does not prescribe a particular citation format, authors should follow the 20th Edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.

Authors should also follow the journal’s requirements for language, dates, references to legislative and judicial bodies, and other formatting requirements.

The manuscript must:

  • Be submitted in .doc or .docx format
  • Follow the NUALS Law Journal Style Guide
  • Follow the prescribed formatting guidelines
  • Contain no author identification markers
  • Have no author name in the manuscript or document metadata

Manuscripts that contain identification markers may face summary rejection.
