About the Internship
The NHRC Online Short Term Internship provides students with an opportunity to learn about human rights and the functioning of the National Human Rights Commission through an online internship programme.
Students from different academic backgrounds can apply, including those pursuing integrated law programmes such as B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B. and B.Com. LL.B.
Eligibility
Students pursuing the following programmes can apply, subject to the eligibility criteria:
- Graduation
- LL.B.
- Masters
- Human Rights-related programmes
- Integrated courses such as B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B. and B.Com. LL.B.
Applicants must also:
- Be 28 years of age or below as on August 1, 2026
- Not have previously completed an internship with NHRC
Documents Required
Before starting the application, candidates should keep the following scanned documents ready:
- Class X certificate
- Class XII certificate and mark sheet
- Graduation certificate and mark sheet, if completed
- Mark sheet of the latest examination
- Identity card of the currently pursuing course
- Recommendation letter from the Principal, Dean or HoD of the current institution
The documents must be in PDF format and not exceed 2 MB. A passport-size photograph must be uploaded in JPEG format and must not exceed 70 KB.
Application Process
The application must be submitted online only.
Candidates will first need to provide their mobile number and email ID and verify their mobile number through OTP.
After verification, applicants must:
- Fill in the required personal and educational details.
- Enter educational qualifications from Class 10 onwards.
- Clearly mention their current course and institution/university.
- Enter examination marks in percentage (%) only.
- Upload the required documents.
- Provide an approximately 250-word Statement of Purpose (SOP).
- Review the information and finally submit the application.
After final submission, the applicant will receive an application number for future reference.
Important Instructions
Applicants should carefully verify all information before submitting the form. Any discrepancy in marks, CGPA or percentage can result in rejection of the application and may bar the applicant from future NHRC programmes.
