The NCW Internship 2026 under Scheme C offers a 30-day virtual internship with the National Commission for Women. Selected interns receive a ₹2,000 stipend for the internship period.

Unlike the physical internship schemes, this NCW Virtual Internship allows eligible students to participate remotely. Scheme C is available to students who meet the eligibility requirements of either Scheme A or Scheme B.

About the NCW Virtual Internship

The NCW Virtual Internship forms part of the revised internship guidelines issued by the National Commission for Women on 4 August 2026.

The National Commission for Women works on issues concerning women’s rights, legal safeguards, grievance redressal, policy matters and gender awareness. It also conducts studies, workshops, consultations and awareness programmes.

Under Scheme C, the NCW offers a virtual internship for 30 days with a stipend of ₹2,000. Therefore, this scheme can suit students who want to gain exposure to the Commission’s work without attending the internship physically.

Selection and Application Process

Students can apply for the NCW Internship through the online application proforma available on the National Commission for Women’s official website.

National Commission for Women official website

Applications are accepted on a quarterly basis for the January–March, April–June, July–September and October–December periods.

The online portal remains open throughout the year. However, applicants must indicate their preferred three-month block while applying. The cut-off date for each quarter falls on the 10th of the preceding month. For example, the deadline for the April–June quarter is 10 March.

A recommendation letter from the Head of the Institution or an authorised signatory may also be uploaded.

Selection for the NCW Internship 2026 uses two factors. Academic performance carries 50% weightage, while the quality of the Statement of Purpose (SOP) carries the remaining 50%.

Candidates who were not selected in an earlier quarter must submit a fresh application for the next quarter.

Terms and Conditions

Each intern must have access to their own laptop and maintain a daily diary of the work completed during the internship.

The NCW will issue a certificate after successful completion of the programme. Interns must complete the required submission or presentation of papers or reports, and the work must receive a satisfactory evaluation.

Interns must maintain confidentiality regarding official information and documents. They must also follow professional and respectful conduct and comply with the applicable PoSH policy/Act.

The NCW can terminate an internship in cases of non-compliance, non-performance or misconduct. In addition, no stipend will be paid if an intern works for less than the specified period, performs unsatisfactorily or breaches the applicable terms and conditions.

Interns will not be treated as employees of the Commission. Further, any research or content created during the internship will remain the intellectual property of the NCW.

Overall, the NCW Internship 2026 Scheme C provides a 30-day virtual opportunity with a ₹2,000 stipend. It is particularly useful for eligible law and social science students seeking a government virtual internship with the National Commission for Women.
