National Commission for Women official website
Applications follow a quarterly cycle covering January–March, April–June, July–September and October–December. Although the online portal remains open throughout the year, applicants must select their preferred three-month block and apply within the applicable cut-off.
The cut-off date for applications is the 10th of the month preceding the relevant quarter. For example, students applying for the April–June quarter must submit their applications by 10 March.
A recommendation letter from the Head of the Institution or an authorised signatory may also be uploaded with the application.
Selection for the NCW Internship 2026 considers two factors equally. 50% weightage goes to the applicant’s academic percentage, while the remaining 50% goes to the quality of the Statement of Purpose (SOP).
Therefore, students should pay particular attention to their SOP when submitting the application. Candidates who were not selected in a previous quarter must apply again for the next quarter.
Terms and Conditions
Each intern must have their own laptop and maintain a daily diary recording the work completed during the internship.
After successful completion, interns can receive a certificate. However, they must complete the required submission or presentation of papers or reports, and the work must receive a satisfactory evaluation.
Interns must also maintain confidentiality regarding information and documents they encounter during their work. In addition, they must follow professional and respectful conduct and comply with the applicable PoSH policy/Act.
For physical internships, the guidelines require a minimum of 90% attendance. Interns will not be treated as employees of the Commission.
Furthermore, research and other content created during the internship will remain the intellectual property of the NCW. The Commission can terminate an internship in cases involving non-compliance, non-performance or misconduct.
