Legal Intern Delhi: Paid Litigation Internship 2026
About the Litigation Internship
A Legal Intern Delhi Litigation opportunity is available for two interns who genuinely want to build practical experience in litigation. The opportunity comes from Puru Lekhi, who works in litigation across Delhi and Punjab.
The internship focuses on hands-on litigation rather than routine office attendance. Interns will work primarily on civil, commercial and arbitration matters, with some exposure to NGT work.
The position is paid. It also offers interns the opportunity to work closely with active litigation matters and understand how lawyers handle research, drafting and court-related work.
The internship is offered in Puru Lekhi’s personal capacity. It is not an opportunity on behalf of any chamber, law office or firm.
Work and Areas of Exposure
The Legal Intern Delhi Litigation role focuses on practical work across several areas of litigation. Interns can expect exposure to:
- Civil litigation
- Commercial litigation
- Arbitration matters
- NGT-related work
- Legal research
- Legal drafting
- Day-to-day litigation work
- Court-related assignments
Candidates with previous experience in civil or commercial matters and the Original Side of the Delhi High Court will receive preference.
The internship also expects interns to understand AI tools used for legal research and drafting. However, using AI is not enough. Interns should know how to verify and recheck AI-generated information before relying on it.
The role may also involve travel for work to another city. Court attendance and Saturday work may arise depending on the requirements of ongoing matters.
Eligibility and Skills Required
The Legal Intern Delhi Litigation opportunity is intended for candidates who genuinely want to learn litigation and take an active interest in legal practice.
A strong candidate should have an interest in:
- Civil and commercial litigation
- Arbitration
- Legal research and drafting
- Court work
- Practical litigation strategy
Previous experience in civil or commercial matters can strengthen an application. Experience with the Original Side of the Delhi High Court is also preferred.
Applicants should also be comfortable using AI tools for legal research. More importantly, they should have the judgment to independently verify authorities, information and outputs produced by such tools.
The internship emphasises genuine learning and practical involvement. Therefore, candidates should avoid sending generic, copy-paste applications and instead explain why they want to learn litigation.
