The Jurisphere Legal Research Intern role offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of law and artificial intelligence. Jurisphere is an AI-powered legal workspace that helps lawyers and legal teams with legal research, document review, drafting, translation and other document-heavy tasks.

The company says its platform is used by more than 500 organisations and 20,000 legal professionals. It also recently raised a $2.2 million seed round led by Info Edge Ventures, with participation from Flourish Ventures, Antler and 8i Ventures.

As a Jurisphere Legal Research Intern, you will work on the development of legal AI systems. Your research and feedback will contribute to the company’s reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF) process.

This makes the role particularly relevant for law graduates who want to understand how legal reasoning can support the development of next-generation legal technology.

Role and Responsibilities

The Jurisphere Legal Research Intern will work closely with legal AI systems and the team developing them. The role combines traditional legal research with AI model evaluation and benchmark development.

A major responsibility involves grading AI-generated legal answers. Interns will assess responses for accuracy, their support from legal authorities and the quality of their legal reasoning. They may also compare different AI outputs and identify which response provides better legal analysis.

The role also involves building legal benchmarks. Interns will help create tests that evaluate whether an AI system can properly reason about Indian law. These benchmarks may cover areas such as contract interpretation, statutory construction, precedent application and jurisdictional questions.

Another important part of the work involves writing short doctrinal research notes. These notes can cover specialised areas such as competition law, contracts, intellectual property, insolvency and bankruptcy, arbitration and taxation. The research can then serve as reference material for AI model training.

You will also collaborate with Jurisphere’s engineering team. Your legal feedback can help the technical team understand where an AI model produces incorrect or unreliable legal reasoning.

Eligibility and Skills Required

The position is open to law graduates from a reputed college. The job posting states that enrolment is not mandatory.

Applicants must also be able to commute to Jurisphere’s Bangalore office in HSR Layout five days a week. Therefore, this is an on-site role, rather than a remote legal research internship.

Strong legal research and writing skills are important for the Jurisphere Legal Research Intern position. Candidates should be able to locate relevant legal authorities, understand them carefully and explain their significance accurately.

Attention to detail is equally important. The role may require identifying an incorrect statutory citation, a subtle distinction in facts or an inaccurate legal proposition in an AI-generated response.

The company also looks for candidates who can work patiently and consistently on detailed research tasks. In addition, applicants should have genuine intellectual curiosity about how AI will reshape the legal profession.

How to Apply

The Jurisphere Legal Research Intern position is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and the job listing provides an Easy Apply option through LinkedIn.
