I am currently in the final year of my 3-year LL.B. at a Tier-4 law college in Bengaluru. Over the course of law school, I have developed a strong interest in Technology Law, FinTech Regulations, Corporate Law, and Intellectual Property Law.
I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, which has led me to explore patent law, and I am preparing for the upcoming Patent Agent Examination. Alongside this, I have been preparing for the CS Executive examination, as I found its curriculum particularly useful for developing my understanding of corporate and commercial laws.
My biggest gap at this stage is practical experience through internships. I am currently interning with a Tier-3 firm in its General Corporate and M&A practice, but I want to gain exposure to a Tier-1 or Tier-2 law firm, particularly in the Technology Law space.
Since I am already in my final year, I want to be strategic about the internships I pursue rather than simply accumulating internships without a clear direction. I am confident in my ability to learn new areas of law, but I am unsure how to position my existing academic background and interests to make myself competitive for Technology Law roles at better firms.
Given my background and limited internship experience, how can I realistically improve my profile and approach Tier-1 or Tier-2 law firms for a long-term internship in Technology Law during my final year?
