I am a B.A. LL.B. student from a Tier-3 law college and am trying to build a stronger academic and extracurricular profile. Since I have comparatively limited access to the opportunities and exposure available at some leading law schools, I frequently come across competitions, certificate courses and workshops organised by NLUs that are open to students from other colleges.
Many of these competitions, courses and workshops require registration fees, and I am unsure whether participating in them would meaningfully contribute to my academic and professional profile. I want to make sure that I am investing my limited time and money in opportunities that actually help me develop relevant skills, gain meaningful exposure or improve my chances of securing internships and other career opportunities, rather than simply collecting certificates.
As a student, how should I evaluate whether an NLU-organised competition, certificate course or workshop is worth participating in? Does participation in these activities meaningfully add value to a CV, If I have limited time and money to invest in profile-building activities, how should I prioritise these opportunities?
