The Surana & Surana Labour Law Moot Court Competition 2026 is a national-level moot court competition organised jointly by the School of Law, Raffles University and Surana & Surana International Attorneys, Chennai. The competition focuses on Labour and Employment Law while also engaging with Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Service Law and related areas.
The 9th Raffles University Labour Law Moot Court Competition will provide law students with an opportunity to develop their legal research, written advocacy and oral advocacy skills. The competition will also encourage participants to examine contemporary issues in labour and employment law through rigorous legal analysis.
About the Labour Law Moot Court Competition
Raffles University, located in Neemrana, Rajasthan, is a multidisciplinary private university established in 2011 through an Act of the Rajasthan State Legislature. It is recognised under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.
The School of Law, Raffles University, has partnered with Surana & Surana International Attorneys to organise this national Labour Law Moot Court Competition. The competition aims to create an academically challenging platform for students interested in labour and employment law.
Participants will engage with contemporary legal questions that may involve Labour Law, Employment Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Service Law and allied disciplines. At the same time, the competition seeks to strengthen practical advocacy skills and encourage innovative legal thinking.
The organisers also aim to promote professional ethics, legal research and persuasive advocacy. Therefore, the competition can be valuable for students who want to develop a stronger profile in litigation, labour law or legal research.
Eligibility and Team Composition
The competition is open to bonafide students pursuing either a 5-year or 3-year law programme in India. This makes the competition accessible to students from both integrated law courses and three-year LL.B. programmes.
Each participating college, university or institution can register only one team. Every team must have a minimum of two members and a maximum of three members. Teams cannot change this composition.
A team must designate two speakers and one researcher. The researcher can argue only with prior permission from the court and Chief Administrator, such as when a designated speaker cannot participate because of illness.
The organisers will provide registered teams with a team code before memorial submission. Teams must use this code when submitting their memorials. They must not disclose their institution’s identity in the memorial. Any such disclosure may attract penalties, including disqualification, at the discretion of the Chief Administrator.
