BSA Bare Act 2023: Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam

The Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 (BSA) is the principal legislation governing the general rules and principles of evidence in judicial proceedings in India. It was enacted as Act No. 47 of 2023 on 25 December 2023 and came into force on 1 July 2024.

The BSA covers important aspects of evidence law, including the relevancy of facts, admissions, confessions, oral and documentary evidence, electronic and digital records, burden of proof, witnesses and examination of witnesses.
