I am a first-year law student at Government New Law College and am currently trying to decide how I should approach my career during law school.
My primary goal is to become a Civil Judge, but I also want to keep Corporate Law as a safe alternative in case I later decide that the judiciary is not the right path for me. Since I am only in my first year, I am confused about whether it is practical to prepare for both career paths simultaneously.
I am particularly unsure about how pursuing judiciary preparation might affect my internships, skill development, and opportunities to build a career in Corporate Law. I also want to understand whether I would be able to develop a strong enough corporate-law profile alongside my judiciary preparation, or whether trying to keep both options open would ultimately compromise my preparation for either career.
Is it feasible to seriously prepare for the Civil Judge examination while keeping Corporate Law as a viable backup option throughout law school? If so, how should I approach the two paths without one negatively affecting the other?
