4th VGU R.K. Rastogi Memorial Negotiation Competition | Offline at VGU Jaipur | Prizes Worth INR 1 Lakh | Register by 11 October
The Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell, Department of Law, Vivekananda Global University (VGU), Jaipur, is organising the 4th VGU R.K. Rastogi Memorial Negotiation Competition on October 24–25, 2026. The competition will take place offline at the VGU campus in Jaipur.
Teams will participate in simulated legal negotiations as a client and counsel. Moreover, the competition will test participants’ negotiation skills through multiple rounds.
About Vivekananda Global University
The Department of Law at Vivekananda Global University focuses on interdisciplinary legal education and scholarship. Its programmes have Bar Council of India approval. In addition, the department conducts moot courts, trial advocacy exercises, ADR training, legal aid activities and community outreach programmes.
The Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell organises training programmes, workshops and simulation exercises in negotiation, mediation and arbitration. It has conducted the VGU R.K. Rastogi Memorial Negotiation Competition annually since 2023.
About the Competition
The 4th VGU R.K. Rastogi Memorial Negotiation Competition commemorates Late Shri R.K. Rastogi, a distinguished member of the Rajasthan Bar and former Advocate General of Rajasthan.
The competition takes place in collaboration with Shri Rajdeepak Rastogi, Senior Advocate and Former Additional Solicitor General of India, who serves as its Patron.
Participants will practise negotiation in a simulated legal setting. Each side will receive common facts as well as confidential instructions for its own team. Therefore, teams must develop their negotiation strategy based on the information available to them.
No memorial needs to be submitted before the competition.
Competition Structure
Each team will have two members. One member will act as the client, while the other will act as counsel. The team members must exchange roles during the preliminary rounds.
The competition will consist of:
- Preliminary rounds
- Quarter-final rounds
- Semi-final rounds
- Final round
For Preliminary Round II, the participant who acted as the client in Preliminary Round I must act as counsel. Subsequently, the team may choose roles for the later rounds.
Eligibility
Students who meet the following requirement can participate:
- Students enrolled in a full-time integrated or graduate law programme as of 31 July 2026.
Team Composition
- Each team must have 2 members.
- One member will participate as the client.
- One member will participate as the counsel.
- Team members must reverse their roles in Preliminary Round II.
Prizes
The competition offers cash prizes worth INR 1 lakh in total:

Registration Details
Teams can choose between registration options with or without accommodation:
- With accommodation: INR 6,000 per team
- Without accommodation: INR 4,000 per team
- The registration fee must be paid online in advance during registration.
