The GNLU Blog on Business Laws and Policy has invited submissions for 2026 on a rolling basis. The blog welcomes well-researched and contemporary pieces covering corporate law, securities law, banking, insolvency, arbitration, competition law, taxation and other financial and business policy issues.

The opportunity is open to authors who can present a clear and original analysis of a relevant legal or policy issue. Submissions can take the form of articles, opinions, case comments and short notes. Authors can also submit pieces that analyse or critique existing academic research.

About the GNLU Blog

The GNLU Blog on Business Laws and Policy focuses on contemporary developments in business law and policy. It provides a platform for analytical writing on legal and regulatory issues affecting businesses, financial markets and economic policy.

The blog follows a rolling submission system, so authors can submit their work throughout the year. However, the Editorial Board expects every submission to offer a novel and well-supported analysis rather than a purely descriptive discussion.

Submissions must be written in English. Authors may submit individually or with one co-author, with co-authorship limited to a maximum of two authors.

Themes and Submission Guidelines

The blog accepts submissions on a broad range of business and commercial law subjects. The key themes include:

  • Corporate Law
  • Securities Law
  • Banking Law
  • Insolvency Law
  • Arbitration
  • Competition Law
  • Taxation
  • Contemporary issues in financial and business policy

The GNLU Blog on Business Laws and Policy requires manuscripts to remain between 1,200 and 1,500 words, excluding endnotes. If a topic requires additional space, authors may divide a longer piece into two or three parts. However, each part must remain complete and readable on its own.

The title should contain no more than 10–12 words. Authors can submit articles, opinions, case comments or short notes. The Editorial Board also welcomes submissions that critically examine existing academic research on a particular issue.

The submission should remain lucid, contemporary and well-researched. More importantly, it should present a novel analysis of the chosen issue. The Editorial Board encourages analytical pieces that offer concrete suggestions rather than descriptive articles with generic recommendations.

Authors must not mention their names or institutions in the manuscript itself. They should also avoid using the first person. When discussing judgments, authors are encouraged to use the names of the parties instead of terms such as “petitioners”, “appellants” or “respondents”.

Formatting and Citation Guidelines

Authors must prepare their manuscripts in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing and justified alignment. The document should have one-inch margins on all sides.

The title must appear in bold and underlined format and use Sentence Case rather than all capital letters or small caps. Heading 2 must be bold, while Heading 3 must be underlined.

The blog prefers references in the form of hyperlinks within the body of the submission. Authors should hyperlink supporting materials and relevant legal texts wherever possible, with open-access sources preferred.

Where a suitable hyperlink does not exist, authors may use endnotes. However, speaking endnotes are not permitted. Endnotes should use Times New Roman, 10-point font, with single spacing and justified alignment. Citations should follow the OSCOLA style.

Submissions should not contain borders. Graphs and images are also not permitted unless an image or graph is necessary to explain or support the argument.

How to Submit

Authors must submit their manuscript in .doc or .docx format through the Google Form provided for the blog submission. Submissions made through any other medium will be rejected.

The file name should follow this format:

“Title_GCBPP Blog”

The Editorial Board generally acknowledges receipt of a submission within 24 hours. It aims to communicate its publication decision as early as possible and ordinarily informs authors of its decision within 10 days of submission.

The Editorial Board conducts a strict double-blind peer review of submissions and retains the discretion to accept or reject any manuscript. Where the Board suggests changes, publication confirmation depends on the author’s incorporation of those suggestions.
