Dr. S.S. Tantia Moot Court Competition 2026

The competition is designed to give law students a platform to demonstrate their legal knowledge, research skills, and ability to present persuasive arguments. It will take place at the Moot Court Hall, Tantia University, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan.

The Faculty of Law at Tantia University was established in 2015 and offers programmes including B.A. LL.B., LL.B., LL.M., Ph.D. in Law, and a postgraduate diploma in Cyber Law.

The moot proposition for the 2026 edition is based on Criminal Law and Constitutional Law. Participants should therefore expect to research and argue issues connected with these areas.

Eligibility and Team Composition

Students enrolled in either a Five-Year Integrated Law Programme or a Three-Year LL.B. Programme are eligible to participate.

Each team consists of three members: two mooters and one researcher. The available competition material also indicates that a university may send a maximum of two teams.

Teams should check the official rulebook carefully for requirements relating to registration, participant details, memorials, and the competition rounds before completing their registration.

The competition is particularly relevant for students looking to strengthen their moot court, legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills.

Moot Proposition and Rulebook

The moot proposition focuses on Criminal Law and Constitutional Law. Participants should read the proposition carefully before beginning their research because the facts and issues in the proposition determine the scope of arguments that can be raised.

The official moot proposition contains the problem that participating teams are required to research and argue.

Teams should also read the official rulebook before registering. The rulebook should be treated as the primary source for detailed competition requirements, including team participation, memorial submission, and other procedural rules.

Reading the rulebook early can help teams avoid mistakes later. It also gives researchers and speakers a clearer idea of the competition timeline.

Awards and Prizes

The competition offers several awards for teams and individual participants.

The winning team will receive a cash prize of ₹31,000, along with a trophy and three one-year complimentary SCC Online Web Edition subscriptions stated to be worth ₹72,000 in total. The runner-up team will receive ₹11,000, a trophy, and a certificate.
