About

Abhirup Das is an Assistant Professor of Law at Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, and also serves as its Placement Officer. A graduate of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow (BA LLB Hons., First Division with Honours), he holds an LLM with dual specialisation in Human Rights and Criminal Law, with a dissertation in International Humanitarian Law, from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi โ€” awarded First Division with Distinction. UGC-NET qualified, he has previously taught at NLU Jodhpur and Amity University, Kolkata, and served as an Adjunct/Associate Fellow at the National Maritime Foundation โ€” the Indian Navy’s official think-tank โ€” where he worked on Indo-Pacific strategy and foreign cooperation. His research and teaching spans public international law, IHL, maritime law, geopolitics, and international relations.
