I am a law student with a strong interest in pursuing a career in the judiciary, followed by litigation, while corporate law remains a secondary option for me. Being a non-NLU student and a second-generation lawyer, I have naturally been inclined towards litigation-oriented career paths.

However, I often wonder whether limiting myself to litigation internships may cause me to miss out on valuable exposure to other areas of legal practice. I am considering applying for internships with corporate law firms, in-house legal teams, or government organizations to better understand different career options and develop a broader skill set.

At this stage of law school, would it be advisable to focus exclusively on litigation-based internships, or should I actively explore opportunities across different sectors before committing to a specific career path? How can a student strike the right balance between building specialization and gaining diverse legal exposure?
