I am a non-NLU law student who initially planned to pursue a career path related to Company Secretary (CS). However, over time, I have developed a strong interest in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and would like to explore a long-term career in this field.
As someone who is transitioning into a completely different area of law, I am unsure about where to begin. While many students recommend paid courses and certifications, I am unable to afford expensive programs and would prefer to focus on cost-effective ways of building my knowledge and profile.
If my goal is to secure internships and eventually build a career in IPR, what should be my roadmap? Which skills, resources, experiences, and opportunities should I prioritize, and how important are paid courses compared to practical experience, research, networking, and self-learning in this field?
